I just wanted to point out a key benefit for this class. I am currently posting this blog from London as I am on a business trip. I find this fascinating that we can communicate with no limitations. The only down side is that it is 1:30pm in Ohio (Tuesday April 29th) and the time here is 6:30pm. Read blog below:
The two high definition videos using the Microsoft website for some reason will not open up on my computer. I have a feeling that maybe the resolution on my computer cannot support the program. This is somewhat discouraging and one down side of this program. I had no problems with the apple program. See description below.
You will find the link for my favorite hi def video on Apple website below. I chose this particular website because I happen to thing that Ducati is the best make motorcycle make today. Take a minute to browse this link: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/ducati.html
I chose to use www.vimeo.com to upload my video which I created using a small digital camera. This program was easy to use and seemed to work well however it took a very long time to upload and convert, around 2.5 hours. The process was simple. I used the camera in video mode and recorded a 2 minute shoot. The upload was as simple as clicking a browser tab and letting the program to the rest. When the upload was complete, I received an email informing me that upload was complete. Take a minute (or two) to view my video using the link below:
I have created an account on www.wiziq.com. Use this link and join the website. After you complete that, invite me to be a part of your contact list.

Did you upgrade your MS Video player? Hi Def video I think need ver. 9 and up?? Besides that those video take long time to download because of the file size.
How was the Internet connection in London? Send me e-mail for this because in Europe in general I found that Internet is more accessible outside home and office i.e. coffee shops, free WiFi in most of the hotels etc.

Dr. Alam,
Unfortunately I usually use my work laptop to do school work and becasue of the security setting are locked I cannot upgrade to Version 9. That does seem to be the problem though.
I agree with you in that internet accessability is much more widespread in Europe. I noticed that just about every restuarant that I was in I saw laptop users. I really think there was free WiFi in most public places. Actually there were many laptop users out on the sidewalks, in front of stores, that were linked into the internet.
I was amazed as to the freedom of accessability.
Thanks,
Dan
